2024 'Jon Boat' Grenache Napa Valley

Winemaker’s Vineyard Notes: 2024 was a mellow vintage with a mild spring & summer except for 2 weeks in July where we enjoyed temps in the upper 90s to low 100s. The fruit is from Hudson Ranch in Carneros. Planted in sandy clay loam.100% Grenache. Harvested 2.2 tons.

Winemaker’s Tasting Notes: Stainless steel fermented, aged sur lees in 40% new French oak for 10 months. Darker shade of ruby in color. Perfumed nose of cassis, mint, garrigue & tobacco leaf. Background notes of rose petal, Asian spice & hints of toasty oak. Delicious, full bodied mouthful of blackberry pie, cassis & ripe dark cherry. Long, lovely finish tinged with supple tannins and cigar box.
